Reporting guidelines
Effective date: 8 October 2026 (2026-10-08) · Last updated: 8 October 2026
SwipelyNews has no comments, posts or uploads. Every story comes from a news outlet and is summarised by AI. Your reports help us catch mistakes and problems. Here's how they work.
When to report a story
Tap ⋯ More › Report on a story and pick a reason:
| Reason | Use it when… |
|---|---|
| Misinformation | The summary or headline is wrong, misleading, or doesn't match the original article, or the original article itself appears to be false |
| Spam | The story is an advert, clickbait, or isn't news |
| Hate speech | The story or its media attacks people for who they are |
| Violence | Violent or gory media isn't blurred, or glorifies violence |
| Adult content | Sexual or nude media isn't blurred, or isn't appropriate for a news app |
| Copyright | You believe the story uses your work without permission. Please also email support@swipelynews.com with the subject "Copyright notice" (see the Copyright & Publisher Policy), so we have the details we need. |
| Other | Anything else, such as wrong outlet credit, a broken article link, or an outdated story. Please add a note. |
Notes are optional (up to 1,000 characters). Please don't include personal information about yourself or others.
What happens next
- For you, right away. The story stops appearing in your feed.
- Review. We review reports, usually within a few days. Many reports about the same story make it a priority.
- Possible outcomes. We may:
- correct or regenerate the summary;
- blur or remove media;
- remove the story;
- stop using an outlet; or
- take no action, if the story is accurate and appropriate.
- What to expect from us. Reports are anonymous to publishers, and we don't reply to each one individually. If you need an answer, for example because you're affected personally, email support@swipelynews.com (subject: "Legal notice").
Please report honestly
Reporting is for genuine problems, not for stories you simply disagree with. To hide topics or outlets you don't like, use Hide or Turn off. Knowingly false or bulk reports break our Terms, and we may stop processing reports from accounts that misuse them.
